Principles of Home Inspection – Systems & Standard
The concise, yet comprehensive courses and text taught by seasoned experienced instructors provide a solid introduction to home inspection principles while offering you the flexibility you need to succeed. This introduction to the major home systems will give you a solid foundation for a career in home inspection.

You can take one of two courses, 13 day or 6 day, or join us for just one day for one course or several days for any combination of courses.

Each of our instructors has been an inspector of many years most in excess of 25 years. Each owns his own inspection company.

Victor has inspected homes and buildings as a professional Home Inspector for 35 years.

  • Is the President of Centurion Home Inspection, Inc., a six inspector firm, for the past 15 years.
  • Was previously technical Vice President for Guardian National Inspection and Warranty Corporation, a national home inspection company, from 1975-1990, with responsibility for training inspectors, developing a reporting system and writing technical bulletins.

As an author:

  • Has written a weekly home inspection columns for two local newspapers; The Patent Trader and The North County News. Presently, he writes a monthly column for NY-Metro ASHI Newsletter.

Domenic Zagaroli

Domenic Zagaroli has been in the appraisal and banking field since 1977. He has operated his own appraisal firm, served as Chief Appraiser at two major lending institutions, and has underwriting background in both residential and commercial properties.  Mr. Zagaroli is the 2005 President of the NYS Society of Real Estate Appraisers, is a regional advisor to the NYS Appraisal Board, and is a Certified General Appraiser in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

He holds the General Accredited Appraiser (GAA) designation from the National Association of Realtors and a graduate of the Instructor Training Institute (ITI). In addition, he has authored various appraisal courses/seminars, is a frequent contributor of real estate articles to several publications, a consulting editor to Kovco Publications, and an admitted Expert Witness in appraiser disciplinary hearings for the NYS Department of State.

Herman Sabath, Ph.D, MPH, CMC*, CMI**,

Specializing in Indoor Environmental Diagnosis, Dr. Sabath has a long and distinguished career in private industry, academia and government. With over 20 years of practical experience in the US and abroad, Dr. Sabath is a true pioneering expert in the field.

  • Dr. Sabath has a Masters Degree in Science (MS) concentrating in Biology and Research and a Masters Degree in Public Health (MPH) concentrating in environmental-related diseases and prevention. He earned his Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) with a research dissertation entitled “Differential Diagnosis of Occupant Symptoms and Complaints in Non-Industrial Buildings.”
  • For over 20 years, he was personally involver in planning, designing, performance, testing, and evaluation of indoor environmental and microbial investigations, diagnosis and remediation in several million square feet of industrial and non-industrial buildings such as schools, hospitals, office buildings, and residential buildings.
  • Dr. Sabath has lectured and written extensively on the issues of indoor environments throughout his career. He has lectured for: New York University School of Continuing Education. Dr. Sabath prepared the first Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) program presented at New York University (1990). Since 1992, he has also lectured for New York Medical College’s Graduate School of Health Sciences, Hunter College’s School of Environmental Health Sciences – Masters in Science Programs and New York University and most recently at the School of Public Health of New York Medical College.
  • With experience in teaching, researching and consulting, Dr. Sabath has consulted with environmental lawyers on numerous litigious cases and settlement agreements such as in the landmark 9 billion dollars case of an apartment complex in New York City.
